The lighting design begins in the warm, open farmlands—a world rooted in comfort, routine, and possibility. Soft, naturalistic light in golden ambers and straw tones evokes late afternoons and open skies, creating an atmosphere of safety and familiarity. Generous front light minimizes shadows, allowing the space to feel breathable and reassuring, as though the land itself offers protection and promise.
As the story progresses, this warmth slowly erodes. Shadows deepen, angles sharpen, and cooler undertones creep into the palette as the family’s reality darkens. Light begins to isolate rather than unify, carving characters out of the space and allowing darkness to press in as a constant presence. By the end, the pastoral glow is no longer guaranteed—only fragments remain, reflecting a world where comfort and possibility coexist with reckoning and truth.
